Part 1) Soldering
When you walk over to the soldering iron and it is turned off, do not touch the metal tip of the soldering iron because you never know when it was last used and how hot it is. Wet the sponge in the iron holder. To use the soldering iron, turn the switch on, set the temperature between 3 and 4, and wait until it heats up. When the soldering iron is hot enough to melt the solder, put some solder on the tip of the soldering iron to clean it. Once you've clean the tip, you can go ahead and solder.
When you are finished soldering, clean the tip of the soldering iron again for the next person, put the iron on the holder, and turn off the iron. Do not leave the iron one, unless you know someone is waiting to use the iron right after you.
